Concerning the One Great Work Network
The following is my personal commentary of an article written by Jana Espiritu-Santo, titled Concerning the One Great Work Network (1-11-22). PDF Please observe her personal website where you can view her original article, and all of her valuable publications. Jana has a unique and vocal perspective pertaining to many issues which I regard as being of the utmost importance, both individually and holistically. Furthermore, Jana is one of the very few in our communities ranks who, like myself, is willing to tackle the larger issues, or I might say, the larger egos, as you will see in a moment. That alone awards her my respect, as I no longer feel that I alone must constitute the voice of reason in the Freedom Movement. Frankly, I’m surprised there aren’t already dozens of us addressing these rather obvious problems, but two voices are certainly better than one, so much love and respect to Jana Esp.
Concerning the One Great Work Network…
Is the goal of the Great Work for you to (after you have done proper shadow/psychological work and have a sufficient understanding of Natural Law) become a public figure and teach the world? To become “someone” important, who can be looked up on google as a prolific content-creator?
Even if you do this, you can never measure up to and will always be a lesser version of Mark Passio, who is the only person in the history of the world that has aggregated information in the best way (according to Mark Passio).
And there is truth to that… however we don’t have access to ALL occulted works created since the beginning of the human species; many great works are inaccessible, too obscure, no longer published, or destroyed to ever know how true this is.
But we can say that the way in which Passio has put pre-existing information together (Hermetic, philosophical, psychological, conspiratorial) has been brilliant and the ground-breaking zeitgeist of our age.
At the same time, is it right of him to be constantly telling his followers that they are not living up to the Great Work unless they become like him and attempt to do as he does and has done?
At this point, it is important to properly define what the Great Work is…
The Great Work is itself very poorly defined, and while it may seem like a good thing that Mark has attempted to offer such a concise and understandable definition for the Great Work, I feel that it has been more harmful than productive. I’m not particularly fond of Marks definition of the Great Work or Natural Law, as he seems unable to define either of them without adding his personal opinions, as though they were irrefutable facts. On the one hand we now have a simple linguistic tool with witch to address, at least very generally speaking, our basic intention as a community, if those are in fact our intentions, which is itself arguable. On the the other hand, this overly simplified definition basically skips all of the personal and developmental aspects of the Great Work pertaining to the individual, and simply jumps to the very end, whereas large groups of people have come together and are assumed to have become grand alchemical adepts, with the presumptuous ambition of raging Messiah complex projected upon the world via nearly identical live-stream podcast. Obviously, this is rather embarrassing for those of us who have spent a lifetime in solitary study, enduring the pains of shadow work and trauma management, only to be ignored while dozens of kids line up to be paid respects, because they skipped the hard part and simply emulated Mark Passio on the internet. Even in the event that this was not the initial intention of Passio’s work, it remains to be the overall effect that it has had on this “community”.
Of course, before one can even so much as begin to correct that ridiculous issue, Mark complicates matters further by proclaiming that pursuing the Great Work, directly implies that one must also be exclusively dedicated to regurgitating his specific opinions and ideals, upon his preferred medium, in his chosen formats, with graphics nearly identical to his graphics, and so on, and that he knows better than all of the mystery schools, and even the ancient Hermetic teachers, to the point that he has spent countless hours screaming and declaring his own personal majesty and genius, and then also creating a $525 class whereby he personally instructs his subjects specifically how to emulate WOEIH, and in the event they perform well enough, they stand a chance of being awarded a promoted to Passio’s special club of people whom he regards as having achieved the Great Work, because they have adopted all of his ideals, opinions, skills, and agendas. Something tells me that if I did that, everyone would call it a fucking cult. I am literally in shock that only Jana and myself are pointing out the gargantuan hypocrisy of creating such a vicious dogma out of the concept of sovereignty.
And so, despite the undeniable quality of Marks outstanding work over the years, his outstanding narcissism nearly ruins it for anyone who isn’t already nearing adept-hood upon viewing said work, as the viewer is tasked with having to draw the line between obvious alchemical truths, and Marks raging ego ever proclaiming that his ideals are just the very best ideals that have ever been conceived, to which the viewer must bow and conform, or simply be regarded as a retarded halfwit. Those viewers equipped with psychological insights will detect the more obvious details such as “The ONE Great Work Network” title nearly stating that Mark Passio somehow owns the Great Work itself, as he alone grants or denies participation therein. Notice also the title of his media class title “Become the TRUE Media” underhandedly suggesting that all media without Marks personal blessing, is somehow false media taking place outside of the Great Work, which Mark just so happens to own. Once you begin see it, you cannot un-see that Mark has entitled himself to be the grand dictator of the Great Work, and he expects everyone to adhere to his personal will, or be cast out by his elected gatekeepers, which is simply laughable. Again, if I did any of this, I’d be labeled a fucking cult leader, and rightfully so.
The Great Work is an ancient (and timeless) Hermetic idea that goes exceptionally beyond Passio’s conception. It is properly defined as the evolutionary journey (and cycle) of the Individual from base matter (least conscious) to the Infinite All (Highest Consciousness). This is achieved through reincarnation and embodying many types of being in many planes of existence through evolutionary Principles/Laws.
(In this way, I would consider the Kybalion superior to Passio’s work because it hashes out the relationship between the Absolute and the relative and goes deeply into Origin (the Infinite All) and the greater Design of manifest/relative realities. This understanding is a philosophical prerequisite for obtaining a holistic perspective of the world.)
Passio defines the Great Work as becoming a public Natural Law teacher following his example, and he adds the important caveat that this should be after we have changed ourselves enough through shadow work to understand Natural Law information. But there are still problems with this…
The first problem is that Passio makes it seem as if his unique purpose is everyone’s purpose (who of course understands the material). He believes that if we were all doing as he does, the world would be a changed place and slavery solved.
But if sovereignty is part of the answer, how can you activate your own sovereignty if you are following a leader and doing the work someone else has done or has requested of you?
It was for this specific line of thinking that I, myself, was cast out of the Mark Passio and Natural Law social media groups several years ago, and labeled a Satanist, a Chaos Sorcerer, and a Community Divider. And let me be perfectly clear that I’ll happily accept any of these titles so long as it be understood that I reject the notion that this cult in any way represents the Great Work or alchemical evolution. Several years ago I confronted the Passio Cult with a very simple series of questions, not one of which they were able to answer. How can one be both independent of mind, and devoted to Mark Passio’s ideals? If these are your own ideals, how do you explain your obsession with Mark? How can one be both sovereign of Will, and have Mark make all your decisions for you? If these are your own decisions, how do you explain your obsession with Mark? How can censorship and controlled narratives be wrong if forced upon you, but you entitle yourself to censor others and control the narrative pertaining to Natural Law? If you are able to recognize the hypocrisy of others, how then are you unable to recognize your very own hypocrisy? Being cast out of the community was the only answer I ever received.
On this level, the issue doesn’t even pertain to the Great Work at all, in fact its not even remotely alchemical. I’ve spent my past three podcast explaining how the entirety of the freedom community resides in base consciousness, ever grasping at social forms, while remaining totally ignorant of their associated alchemical essence. Its actually an issue of the level of consciousness of the individuals who are attracted to these cults of personality in the first place. The genuine Work isn’t something that even registers on the intellectual or spiritual radar of the profane, and in turn, the genuine alchemist rarely registers upon the plane whereas sycophancy and worship of gurus manifest these sub-cultural dogmas, pretending to be valid spiritual pursuits.
As Jana correctly pointed out above, the Great Work is an evolutionary journey, exceedingly more divers and dynamic than Mark leads on, being both objective and subjective in various dimensional context, whereas Marks work is often myopic, liner, and unnecessarily hung up on the human perception of objective reality, which lacks holistic insight. As for Marks belief that his personal calling must therefore be all of humanities personal calling as well, that’s just plain narcissism. As I see it, everyone lining up to conform to Marks ideals, could quite possibly result in a far worse world than the one we have now. I’m not at all concerned with the flavor or genre of blind conformity, so much as I am concerned with each and every Living Soul having the opportunity to absorb experience and express itself freely, unhindered by dogma or indoctrination to abstract idealism. If Passioism could end all wars, all governments, all politics, and all religions, I still wouldn’t want anything to do with it, because that would still be slavery to an external idea. My personal sovereignty has no room for anyone other than the Creator. My volition cannot be told what to think, do, or feel. My inherent, autonomous, reason, cannot be externally, controlled, or prescribed. My liberty cannot be dictated. The people in this cult simply have no idea what they words even mean, at all.
Its more than a little bit amusing to watch Mark flawlessly define psychopathy as being a mental state whereby egomaniacs are Hell bent upon their own selfish pursuits while being totally unconcerned with the thoughts or emotions of others who stand in their way, only for Mark to turn around and then proclaim in a screaming three hour rant, that his personal goals are all that matter in the whole wide world, that he is right, and you are wrong, and he doesn’t care what you think, or how you feel about it, because he believes himself to be a blessing to humanity, the very smartest, and the most talented, indeed the most exceptional man to have ever lived on Earth, and everyone should just think what he thinks, and do what he does, and then everything would be all better, and at this point, its just not to be taken seriously anymore. And just to fair, this isn’t an attack on Mark alone. This would be as true if it were stated about my work, or Jana’s work, or anyone’s work. Mark just seems to be the most obvious modern example of the phenomena at this point in time, and rather than fighting it, he seems to be enjoying it.
Everyone has a unique purpose and not every Hermetic student (Neophyte/Initiate/Adept) is meant to be a public presenter or content-creator. Some are and some may feel inspired to repeat the Natural Law seminar, which is great if it is driven from within. Mark’s work played a role in awakening my own purpose to content-create and I’ll always be grateful for him. He has significantly helped change the lives of many people and that is a wonderful thing!
But there are as many individual purposes as there are people and this diversity is, in final analysis, complementary and should be nourished instead of trying to create one template for what the Great Work is. Fostering judgment against non-content creators or non-public figures is a poison for the community and reductionistic in its perception of value.
To say that everyone’s end goal and singular purpose is to be this one thing, to be like Mark Passio falls into collectivist thinking that ultimately supports a social hierarchy that defines what the Great Work means. And that is exactly what the One Great Work Network is, making it a potential cul-de-sac for individuals who take Passio’s word as gospel. For others aware to these issues, it may not be a problem.
I certainly agree with this sentiment. I would even go so far as to caution newcomers to the Freedom Community and Marks work, to be mindful of a crucial observation pertaining to the character of anyone claiming to be a fan of, or to be motivated by, Mark Passio. You see, in the time before Marks overly public work and influence, if one stood up in a crowd and announced themselves an Occultist or De-Occultist, there would be obvious questions for them, which they would be required to answer, such as: Which of the mystery schools have you studied? In what covens or temples do you hold memberships? Among whom are your titles recognized? In the past, indeed within my lifetime, the claim to being an Occultist, Witch, or Alchemist, was on par with claiming to have studied various traditions of magic and psychology, to the point of basically possessing college degrees in those fields. People recognized you as the person that they could come to with questions, because you were studied enough so as to possess the answers, or the skills so as to divine them. And now, with the whole Passio thing going on, the claim to being an Occultist, Witch, or Alchemist, is basically on par with asking someone, Whats your favorite Mark Passio video? There’s just no there, there. You can now buy a tee shirt, memorize a few platitudes, join the right social media groups, and with a donation to Marks crypto account, BAM! You’re an alchemist about the Great Work. Its pathetically sophomoric.
These new “great work kids”, so as far as I can tell, are in no danger of even comprehending Marks work, much less the work of other contemporary names such as Michael Tsarion, Jordan Maxwell, Terence McKenna, Graham Hancock, Randall Carlson, Michael Tellinger, Hugh Newman, Rupert Sheldrake, Max Igan, Larken Rose, etc, and they obviously haven’t attempted delving in to the works of non-contemporary heavy-weights such as AE Waite, Churchward, Mackey, Pike, Huxley, Crowley, Leadbeater, Jung, Nietzsche, DW Myatt, Gurdjieff, Orwell, Blavatsky, Regardie, Campbell, Hine, Plato, Buckland, Leary, and so on.
These “podcast copy-cats kids” that Mark is spamming out in his own image, are not Occultist or Alchemist at all, and they are hardly to be regarded as intellectuals either. And so, while I would agree that the issue of fostering judgment against non-content creators and non-public figures, is absolutely a poison for the community, I would further address that Mark is not only shaming non-content creators, but also shaming all existing content creators who do not conform to his personal image. He seems pleased to have begun eliminating any trace of independent character, or personality, or style, from the Great Work itself , and he has set out to replicate himself like so many Agent Smiths trying to conquer the Matrix. The whole “One Great Work Network” is like Mark is smirking and saying to the world “Allow me to introduce you to ME!!!” as he points at the faces of the people who have been granted his sanctimonious approval. I keep trying to tell people that this guy isn’t God, and that membership in his club isn’t the Great Work, but it would seem that joining this cult is easier than embracing the genuine shadow work. If I never receive an invitation to that network, I’ll consider myself fortunate, as my individuality, and personality must still be intact.
Now, what Mark did with the Natural Law seminar in 2013 was phenomenal! While the information is “nothing new,” being eternal wisdom, they way he delivered it was new, fresh, inspiring, truly original, and incredibly helpful to make a shift in consciousness. I remember listening to it over a dozen times to fully understand it, feeling that all my previous studies and inner transformations led up to it. Having finally found the Philosopher’s Gold, I was blissed out for months after.
Mark Passio was an anomaly who made a difference and captured the spirit of our age… But we can’t live in the past. Others can never repeat what Passio did, nor can Passio repeat that revolutionary event. And there is no need to, the information is out… it is accessible and available now having been revealed an unveiled. The apocalypse already occurred and as much as we want to ride that moment forever and wish that it made more of an impact, we have to move on and accept the dark collective fate ahead of us.
While there have been highlights and some new ideas since, Mark has generally been regurgitating and rehashing the same work as he even admits. From the audience perspective, nothing has changed about his consciousness as he clings to a static and rigid role with the same tone, expression, style, and content where you can almost predict what he is going to say next. When we have become predictable and static, we have stopped growing.
I guess I am only splitting hairs here, but another way you might look at it, is in the context of an individuals stage of development, rather than the age of a people or collective. What I mean is that even back in 2013 when that awesome collection of truth was produced, there were plenty of people who were in complete denial of the facts stated, and they ignored the truth and buried their heads in the sand. Likewise, there have certainly been those who years later were arriving at a stage of consciousness whereas they were ready to accept these truth, and then discovering this lecture series, found it to be as valuable as you did back when it happened. Despite what has become of Mark, I hope that his Natural Law Seminar continues to serve that purpose for anyone prepared to make use of it, and Id say the same of his audio podcast, however, I have no use for his video series of three hour screaming fits, and I totally reject his baseless assertion that if I don’t like his video podcast, I’m “just too sensitive to handle what a hardcore man he is”, lol, because the truth of the matter is that he just looks immature, not intimidating. His ego and behavior are an embarrassment to our entire community, and I don’t feel any responsibility to make excuses for him. His older work is priceless, but now he is just acting like a spoiled child, having a temper tantrum.
On his podcast rants, he has continued to yell, criticize, and embarrass his audience for not doing enough… for not becoming public figures… for not being as great as he is… using his past accomplishments as a leverage on power, making them feel ashamed at how little they’ve done in comparison.
He plays the paternal (saturnian) coach saying what ever he needs to, to get people’s butts in gear to create his army of teachers. As much as he denies being a cult leader, this is the type of abuse and manipulation that cult leaders put on their followers to recruit them. Even if the actions one is manipulating another to do are seemingly good, the ends don’t justify the means. Sharing Natural Law content because of external pressure (fear, shame, guilt, inadequacy, insecurity, etc.) is not aligned to Natural Law. If someone is putting pressure on you to do something or be someone with their narrow definition of spirituality then you will not be motivated for the right reasons.
You cannot be sovereign if you pursue what others want you to pursue. Consciousness isn’t just about action, but thought and feeling—and getting that aligned too (not just to objective reality, but one’s True Identity—and regarding that latter part: no one can tell you what that is).
On one hand, who gives a damn what Mark Passio thinks? Just do what you do and ignore him. On the other hand, if your standard of achievement is based upon receiving Marks blessing, well, you’ll have to live up to Marks expectations. I feel like this needs to be spelled out, because I have concerns on both sides. I’d start off by saying that I have absolutely zero need for Mark Passio to validate me or my work. I have absolutely zero need for Mark Passio to recognize me or my work. I am an independent information aggregator, distributor, and content creator, and I’ve been doing what I’m doing with, and without, Marks approval or acknowledgment, and I will continue to do so. That said, there are two particular issues with the notion of “Marks approval” that I would address. One, it is a bit of an affront when someone as popular as Mark announces that he is going to build a network of active voices, and content creators in our community, and then he simply turns a blind eye to the work of anyone who wont bow down and kiss his ass. Two, newcomers and on-lookers of this community may actually view Mark as being our leader or guru, not knowing any better than to believe that Marks chosen people are actually they only people worthy of attention.
Mark certainly isn’t the best of us, but he is the most obnoxious and visible of us. This means that if anyone were to look us up online, they’d very likely get a video of Mark calling himself our savior, instead of true representation of the unique, diverse, and complex community that we are, which includes the likes of myself and Jana, and several others who are sick and tired of Marks bullshit. Marks standards are absolutely not universal in our community, and neither are his definitions of the Great Work and Natural Law.
I’ll offer myself as an example. Marks Ark Drive has 9,000 PDFs in it, and you have no method of obtain them other than paying for them, and jumping through hoops and rigid mailing procedures. My Digital Occult Library Project has 26,000 PDFs in it, and you can instantly download all of them free of charge. Marks Ark Drive is 2 TB of paid only content. My Library consist of 200 GB of free to download materials, and another 800 GBs that are available via a 1 TB paid drive. You have to kiss Marks ass, and recognize him as your personal lord and savior, to be acknowledged by him. When you access my content, you don’t have to speak to me at all, and I accept kind and harsh feedback alike, giving everyone a voice regardless of their position. Obviously, my offer is way better than Marks offer, but this cult refuses to even acknowledge my existence, because I have been calling out this communities hypocrisy for many years, and exposing that the standard by which anyone is acknowledged, or ignored, has nothing to do with the quality or quantity of your work, and everything to do with weather or not you worship Mark Passio. This also demonstrates that Mark is more concerned with growing his flock, than he is with making more study materials available to the public. And just to drive the point home, if you are really paying attention here, you will notice that there are people listed on the One Great Work Network who have absolutely NO work of their own, other than a YouTube channel with three videos on it, and twelve views between them. Looks to me like making regular donations will get you added to the One Great Work Network, but running a massive library of occult knowledge pertaining to every know mystery school on Earth, and sharing it freely with all of humanity, will not. What did Mark say the definition of the Great Work was again?
If we are not living in alignment with Natural Law, but putting out NL content, then what’s the point?Holistic living is the goal, not content-creation from a contradictory consciousness.
People who need Mark to give them the motivation to become “someone” have not really discovered their own sovereignty and internal power may be seeking approval from a leader and often their father. This fosters an unhealthy co-dependent dynamic.
Finding our unique purpose happens at different times and differently for each person connected to the Principle of Rhythm… for it to happen right, it must come from Love and Freedom, the expansion of consciousness (also a Principle, as all Seven are involved).
I think the primary word here is “IF”. When you look at Pat Robertson or Joel Osteen, do you see genuine men of God? When you see the brainwashed morons throwing money at them and falling on the floor, do you see genuine Christian faith? I certainly do not. As far as I can tell, Mark is playing the same game with this community. He has no concern whatsoever if those who follow him actually comprehend Natural Law, just so long as they blindly regurgitate his platitudes on their copy-cat podcast. You ask “if we are not living in alignment with Natural Law, whats the point” but as I have addressed in many of my latest podcast, people in base consciousness have only one goal, which is to join a community, recite platitudes, and be accepted by their peers. They don’t even care which community it is, or what the beliefs are. They are only after the acceptance and peer validation, and they will adopt any beliefs and say any words to get it.
Sadly this looks the same whether they do it with Christianity, Satanism, Natural Law, Buddhism, The Great Work, or Islam. People in base consciousness will only ever grasp the external form, while remain totally ignorant to the genuine essence. From their perspective they are totally successful in their goal, but never be mistaken that their goal was ever to be in alignment with Natural Law. It was not. Their goal in producing Natural Law content is only to maintain, or elevate, their status in their community, but as they have no true comprehension of Natural Law, all they can possibly do is copy Marks work and repeat it near verbatim. Once you understand the intellectual level upon which these joiners are operating, you could nearly pity them, and the only truly shameful participant therein are the gurus, in our case Mark Passio and his personally elected Gatekeepers, who obviously know better than to use these profane imbeciles in this immoral fashion, especially while pretending to educate humanity pertaining to the methods by which the Elite do the very same thing to those they call the Dead.
Being inspired to do to something driven with purpose comes from within and cannot be forced into existence; it’s spontaneous and organic. I recall searching for my purpose for many years, but I had to do enough inner work to find it and the vision came to me when least expected. My purpose even changed in a matter of years (from art to writing) and I feel as if I could sustain this purpose for the rest of my life—that’s how much the light burns bright in my heart. It’s a beautiful experience to feel you have something special to offer the world that only you discovered for yourself… and to nurture that. But what is not beautiful is being shamed into taking an action that isn’t genuine even if it is emulating a person of great works.
The Great Work is about discovering the Self, and once we conceive of it as one particular mission, we fail to see how it is connected to discovering what we are uniquely meant to do here. For someone to do great works in the world and make an impact, it has to come from original inspiration of one’s True Self… it has to be YOUR SPECIFIC CALLING and YOUR SPECIFIC VOICE… as the integration of your life experience and knowledge from an eclectic array of sources. This will look different for everyone. The path of sovereignty is about becoming more of an INDIVIDUAL, not less. We shouldn’t want others to be like ourselves, but to be the fulfillment of themselves.
To turn the Great Work into a mechanical thing, a technical endeavor, a format of instructions, a chore that people “should” do (as dictated by a leader) removes the living intelligence and spontaneous desire that should be involved in our actions and creations directed by our Selves. There are near infinite ways to be engaged in the Great Work and many have nothing to do with the public sphere. There are many types of right-actions to be taken that should align with the individual’s soul personality.
Passio leaves this out because he is focused on one agenda and one way of doing things—his way. And he will distort spiritual ideas to serve this. His approach is fine, as long as it is properly contextualized in a larger correct framework. But gatekeeping needs to be called out as some people will really suffer from this.
This particular passage is the reason that I decided to offer this commentary, and feature Jana’s essay on my SubscribeStar account. I am hardly able to express how truly happy I am, to see another human being standing up and saying these words, after I have stood alone and taken many years of slander and ridicule from this community, for having said the same. In my heart I knew that, eventually, others would begin to see how the message of love and union, had been twisted into a cult of conformity, and the individuals potential for imagination and sovereignty, had been twisted into social dogmas and guru worship. Our agenda to expose the Elite and liberate humanity from dialects and dogmas, has nothing to do with landing them in yet another dialectical dogma, ran by some guy claiming to own the Great Work.
The Work is manifest in many various forms and formats, so as to touch various people in divers ways, for which their individual consciousness is prepared and capable. This includes evil as well, even though no one wants to hear that. The notion that the Great Work is all love and light, or rainbows over Utopian social perfection is, to be frank, New Age Bullshit. Everything that we experience is the Work. Everything we engage is educational, and in a world devoid of the problems which Passio seeks to eradicate, the principles which he advocates would become therefore meaningless, and at best, manifest a new slavery for humanity, deserving equal eradication of its own. The true issue here is Freewill, and Freewill possess the capacity for great righteousness and great evil, as saw fit by the Creator. Mark behaves as if he can wag a finger and “fix” Gods mistake whereby humanity was granted personal choice. Well its not a mistake, its every living souls liberty to produce their own karma, either positive or negative, and in the event that anyone believes that they can stand between the Creator and other living souls, and force truth into the narrow confines of their own personal ideals, they are actually attempting to shut down the very platform upon which the states of Sovereignty, Freedom, Liberty, and Volition, are possible. Its just not Marks choice, its not my choice, and its not Jana’s, how you ought to live your life. Its your choice, and your choice alone, how you interact with the All, or any given component therein, and your Karma, and your communion with the Creator, will reflect your choices, not your membership on Daddy Marks special club of gullible sycophants.
Marks podcast intro says “Humanities Critical Moment of Choice”, but ultimately Mark would play God and do his whole Agent Smith thing whereby you would be reborn as a clone of himself, and that’s unnatural, disgusting, and in opposition to the Great Work. The Work pertains more to balancing the Self, and balancing our communities, than dedicating oneself to extremism of any kind, and so while Marks style is certainly adequate for people in a certain stage of conscious development, his is not the only style, and theirs is not the only stage of conscious development. This Passio Great Work Dictatorship business is bastardizing the living souls unique identity, enslaving its dynamic expressions, and restricting its evolutionary liberties. This is the exact process by which the Elites military takes a new recruit and strips them of their identity, shaves their heads, and uniforms them in to identical drones in compliance to external leadership. When Jana says that people will suffer for this, I absolutely agree, but I’d say that she is putting it rather mildly, as dogmatic indoctrination systems pretending to be valid spiritual paths, is actually one the most pressing issues of all time.
Being on his network is fine, as long as you can critically assess the spiritual errors he may be propagating that could cage your potential. I write this for those who may be confused and maybe help those who aren’t able to articulate the situation better.
Being holistic means being balanced in all aspects of life, which has a unique expression for each individual in which the Great Work is part of.
However, this exclusive focus on content-creation encourages workaholism (and using work as an addictive drug), hustle culture, social climbing, narcissism (using work to feed the ego), identifying with your work, reducing the value of people to their accomplishments, linking approval to “followers,” linking power to views/likes, reducing consciousness to action, spending too much time on harmful electronics, etc.
The focus on a network encourages social hierarchies, competition (comparing people’s work), a materialistic conception of spirituality (as being what you tangibly produce), reward/punishment systems (social credit points and awards from Mark Passio), etc. All of these are traps for further evolution when one steps into the cage Passio has designed (probably unconsciously).
Personally, I would not accept an invitation to Marks little network, because I do not want my personal work and views to be conflated with Marks “spiritual errors” as you define them. Mark has made it painfully clear that the standard for membership on his network has nothing to do with the quality of anyone’s work, and everything to do with accepting him as your spiritual leader or community maven. The thing is, I don’t need a leader, and you can ask anyone who the maven of my community is. Its me! My goal is to collect and share information through my Digital Occult Library, with no ego attached, and to hold a mirror up to the Freedom Community through my personal podcast, with my ego attached. Mark simply has no place in my personal ambitions, because this is my Work, not his.
I have absolutely no interest in conforming people to my personal will, and that alone seems to be the purpose of Marks network. And honestly, why are we even calling it a network in the first place? Its just a website with links leading to other peoples websites, that Mark is somehow attempting to take alchemical credit for. I’m actually astonished that he has managed pull this off at all, much less convinced all of these people that he is the path to freedom and sovereignty, or that narcissism is alchemy, or that video views are personal evolution. As you stated above, all of this is a trap which converts evolution in to social stagnation, and this is why I chuckle when Mark talks about involution, be cause he is the primary source of involution in this community.
How foolish are these OGWN members not to realize that the whole network could be completely deleted, and all of peoples work listed there upon, would still exist on their very own sites. You see, Mark just isn’t necessary, at all. How would it hurt Larken Rose, Ivan Oyola, Bill Church, Nathan Riddett, Mark Devlin, Keith Knight, Jay Parker, or Derrick Broze, if Mark removed their names from OGWN? I seriously doubt that they would even notice at all because, love them or hate them, their work stands on its own, and Mark doesn’t get any credit or blame for it, because it not Marks intellectual property, and Mark has no right to be deciding for other people, which content is worthy of viewing, or not. Marks obvious goal is to remove freewill and free choice from the Great Work, and its never going to happen. Never…
We are meant to digest and incorporate Natural Law information into our lives, but it will be expressed at different times and different ways. Limiting the Great Work to a materialistic, agenda-driven conception and/or as tangible products on on-line platforms removes the infinite multi-dimensionality in how spiritual evolution actually unfolds beyond our perceptions, conceptions, and even creations… and much beyond the digital world itself.
This is true, and I agree with your position, however, if you take this correction that you are offering Mark, you are also perfectly spelling out Marks approach to the Great Work, and listing the exact “spiritual errors” we addressed above. Why is Marks version of the Great Work incorrect? Well, because he views it as being a materialistic, agenda driven, online platform, with trinkets for sale, in a singular dimensional, spiritless involution, limited to human perception and intellect, as represented upon his digital worldview. This could be the Mission Statement of everyone who refuses to allow Mark Passio to define what their goals are, or what the Great Work is.
A second problem with this narrow definition of the Great Work is that Passio’s material is only a beginner’s guide to the Occult and Alchemy that provides a basic conceptual structure requiring further education and refinement from other sources and inner work. Self-Knowledge cannot be taught, but is equally necessary.
His formula gives the impression that at a beginner’s level of understanding one should now turn all of their attention to enlightening/teaching the world. But the truth is that there is so much more individual growth needed to really be considered holistic and at an Initiate level—which is not the end of growth either.
People who get caught up in content-creation and its ego payoffs can easily conflate the growth of their platform or body of work with the growth of consciousness when they can be diametrically opposed. The public persona can be a trap. Public figures often remain the same their entire lives (having crystallized their social hierarchy and following), while private individuals may go through intense transformations free from the restriction of these things. Ultimately, the content-creator matters MORE than his content… and he shouldn’t even identify himself as content-creator for that is not the True Self.
Well said. I would add that even having taken on the instruction of Michael Tsarion, Jordan Maxwell, Terence McKenna, Graham Hancock, Randall Carlson, Michael Tellinger, Hugh Newman, Rupert Sheldrake, Max Igan, Larken Rose, Waite, Churchward, Mackey, Pike, Huxley, Crowley, Leadbeater, Jung, Nietzsche, Myatt, Gurdjieff, Orwell, Blavatsky, Regardie, Campbell, Hine, Plato, Buckland, Leary, all combined, you have still only just begun, and truly made no meaningful progress until such a point as the suggestions offered by these teachers, has been integrated by the student on the plane of actual experience. If that hasn’t happened yet, I don’t care if you’ve memorized entire libraries, you simply haven’t taken the gnosis to the point of active wisdom yet. I might even argue that all material pertaining to any of the mystery schools is only beginners material, because the advanced lesson is lived, not read. The most hilarious aspect of these Passio kids, is that they believe themselves to have become Natural Law Adepts, after viewing only Marks point of view, pertaining to entry level psychology. The truly horrible aspect of this situation is that Mark must absolutely know better, and he not only allows this to go on, but he is fanning the flames, and becoming emotionally unstable. Mark is the very guy that he is warning everyone to be discerning enough to defend themselves against.
Personally, I have done more work on my consciousness when NOT content-creating but through contemplation and reflection. And that work is the gold, not the content I create. Even Initiates and Adepts have more inner work to do after going all the way, since there are levels to “going all the way.” This reflects the vast nature of cyclic, upward spiraling transformative movements of evolution. If we are still in this body then we are not yet a Master.
By ONLY focusing on action, Mark’s Great Work formula leaves out the necessary continual refinement of thoughts and feelings (the causal factors for action) and the more subtle aspects of inner work that just keeps going. We should be talking about mind and spirit, as much as we are action. By holding one type of action as the Great Work, we make it easier for individuals to bypass the alchemy of thought and feeling and obfuscate seeing action in a more holistic/multidimensional way.
I’ve experienced four major transformations in my life, and my last was many years after learning Natural Law material. Intellectual understanding is vastly superficial to understanding its application in consciousness (both yours and others). Philosophical understanding of ideas isn’t equivalent to psychological understanding of consciousness and how it plays out in real-time and real events. There are levels and layers of evolutionary refinement, as there is always shadow and ego to refine. If we aren’t constantly engaged in that work, then how can be considered to be doing the Great Work? (And you’ll never be given social credits for that type of work.)
Some people who are focused on content-creation or making a name for themselves, should really be focused on gaining more knowledge, as the ego likes to believe it knows more than it does. Several people in Passio’s network have proclaimed themselves, to me personally, to be moral relativists. This doesn’t seem to matter, because as long as it serves his network, even misinformation is considered good.
It tends to make people very uncomfortable when I talk about it, but if I were to address those life events from which I derived the Gold, from which I look back and contemplate and discover universal truths, they could only be described as terribly horrible events. I was born in to an abusive home surrounded by insane people, I had no support network whatsoever, I was a criminal and incarcerated in a reform school before I even made it to high school so as to drop out, I was in gangs, I was a Satanist, and I authored text advocating the most destructive of ideals, all before the age of thirty. Now having had eleven years to reflect upon my diverse and eclectic life experience, I find more education therein, than all the countless books, documentaries, lectures, and podcast, that I have absorbed while studying. I don’t need to be taught about immorality, as I have been immoral, and I have resolved it with the Creator. I don’t need to be taught about rights, as I have been denied my own rights, and denied the rights of others, and I have resolved it with the Creator. I don’t need to be taught about Natural Law, as I have relentlessly opposed cause and effect, and watched Karma hand me my ass repeatedly, and I have resolved it with the Creator. I absolutely do not need to be taught about Satanism, as I have been a rather evangelistic Satanist, recovered true care and my moral compass, and I have resolved it with the Creator. At some point, the adept will realize that studies and memberships only equip one with nomenclature with witch to express their experience, however, studies can offer no experience of their own.
And this is the trouble with the utilitarian approach that says do whatever it takes to get this information to the greatest number of people, even if that means putting moral relativists on the network. But you cannot approach spirituality with utilitarianism. Helping relativists see the flaws of their worldview IS the Great Work, not having them join a Great Work Network so that they believe they understand when they don’t!
Seeing the value of each person as dependent to their contribution to the network fails to see the developing person as the substance of value and their work in consciousness! Do we care more about what a person does, than their actual development?
Oh trust me, Mark has absolutely zero concern for the true substance of anyone on his network, and I can prove the point easily. Either Mark doesn’t understand morality as well as he claims, or he just doesn’t care at all. The whole notion that you could lie about morality so as to achieve teaching morality, is simply moronic. No, I can tell you now, this is about Mark getting money, free labor, and free services. Many of Marks slides are made by other people. Marks film editing is done by other people. Marks documentary music is written and performed by other people. In the event that Mark does pay anyone for their services, he pays them with money that other people donated. I think people would be shocked to learn how much of WOEIH was actually produced by other people, but that is to say nothing of the actual character of these people he uses, and allows on his network.
Mark knows full well Sethikus Boza is selling access to Odin for $700 a head, to any retard who comes along. Mark knows full well that Sethikus Boza teaches everyone that Initiation is something that you can buy on his website for $400, after you’ve paid obscene amounts of money for all of his other services. Mark knows full well that Logan Hart is targeting middle aged women with $300 Tarot readings, and “Life Coaching”, telling them that they will lose weight and find love, after they pay him of course. Mark knows full well that Brandon Martin is pretending to be a Grand Freemason, while he couldn’t squeeze out a fart on his own, unless Mark did the pushing for him. Mark knows full well that Sean McCann is on his network, despite his entire claim to fame being that he talks about one, and only one, movie, Eyes Wide Shut. Mark totally ignores the fact that Sean McCann has a public interview with Freeman Fly, where they brag for two hours about smoking meth and ripping off people who took their children to play carnival games, by rigging the games such that they couldn’t be won, followed Sean McCann’s lecture where he instructs the public in how to properly beg for free money and food, by targeting young me with a date, because if the man wont give you what you ask for, the woman wont “put out” that night, which is a rather misogynistic point of view, coming from someone who Mark regards as spiritual leader worthy of inclusion on the OGWN.
The truth of this matter is that these people all give Mark money or free services, and so Mark keeps them in his special network of useful idiots. Sean does free camera work for Mark, and everybody knows it. Logan gives Mark free music for his productions, and everybody knows it. Sethikus makes graphics and artwork for Marks podcast, and everybody knows it. Will Keller makes artwork and slides for Marks podcast, and everybody knows it. Giving Mark free labor and skills is the obvious standard of admission to Marks One Great Work Network, and as far as I can tell, the One Great Work Network actually represents everything that the true Great Work actually resolves in the individual, such as narcissism, lies, manipulation, usury, deceit, and theft.
Another problem with Passio’s Great Work definition is that it implies that it is only through his work that individuals can develop holistic consciousness and become spiritually awake. Yeah, believing that would put a lot of pressure on you, but it isn’t exactly true. While his work is helpful and we can share it and draw from it, other people can and have arrived at these eternal truths through different paths all throughout history.
While Passio’s work describes the integrated meta-structure of truths a holistic person will naturally understand, many people arrive at this understanding in their own way, even if they do not linearly organize data in the fashion he does… There are people who understand Hermetic philosophy better than Passio and have never heard of him.
We should not confuse the map (Natural Law education) with the territory (holistic consciousness).
Ultimately, spiritual information will always exist because it is part of existence. Even when every artifact of spiritual knowledge is destroyed, people will have access to it directly as this is the magical design of the cosmos: “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” People receive the information when they have developed to the point of readiness, because this is the whole purpose of the universe: EVOLUTION.
Part of evolution is relinquishing the grandiose significance we ascribe to ourselves and our work. That would be hard for someone like Passio to do, who has done significant work, but that would be the next phase of his development that would grant him a higher expression of freedom. It’s okay to be proud of what you’ve achieved, but we must restrain ourselves from turning that into pride (an accessory of the ego).
There is a saying, “when you do something bad, don’t forget it… but when you do something good, forget it.” This references the wisdom of being always aware of your errors/faults/vices, while not identifying with your virtues/strengths or the good, which causes blindness, arrogance, vanity, and ego attachments. Humility is one of the highest virtues that we should cultivate even to the end of our Eternal Return. There is no accomplishment that we could do that is greater than the All Itself! My fundamental point is that generating Great Work material is not the whole of what the Great Work is and I think that needs to be said; some see it but some don’t but suspect something isn’t quite right… and its that second group that I am targeting.
Mark’s Passio’s definition of the Great Work leaves out the evolution and ascension of the individual in a larger infinite scheme. The definition is reduced to joining his Network and social hierarchy, where you can receive his accolades and validation that you are in fact doing the Great Work. He has set the highest standard for what the Great Work is… when the All should always be at the Apex.
To obfuscate the larger picture of evolution is to distort basic Hermetic teachings and even though this is done under the guise of good deeds, we have to understand, again, that the ends don’t justify the means.
Mark sees this as a “numbers game,” taking a utilitarian approach, where the end goal is to get as many people as possible awakened to this information, as the one and only solution to the world’s problem of human slavery. This will make sense to people who don’t understand levels of consciousness.
But Initiates and Adepts all throughout the ages have never attempted to change the masses… and for good reasons. People entertain this idea often due to political collectivism/globalism, the new age “save the world” mind-virus, and the tools of the digital age.
You nailed it, Jana. This is why I have always said that all of the libraries of Truth in the entire world are pointless if the individual doesn’t value that information. Likewise, burning all the libraries of Truth in the entire world is not detrimental to the individual who is determined to discover the Truth. Nothing can be hidden, and nothing can be given. The individual has to be ready, and when they are ready, the very Nature of Being will lead them to that Truth, which cannot be given or taken away.
Natural Law operates outside of us. Souls have been evolving out of this plane since its existence. We are not the only types of Natural Law messengers as Nature herself is a Messenger and there are many kinds of messengers beyond what we know. Most light occultists work behind the scenes. Thus, we must strive to see the Great Work outside ourselves and outside of what we create as the intelligent evolutionary forces behind the cosmos that act in seemingly mystical and mysterious ways, bringing the precise tailored lessons and events to individuals for their interior growth. Becoming conscious of this begets a glorious feeling as we start to understand “the Higher.”
Mark will tell a dozen truths, and then follow it with a claim about the nature of his personal superiority to all of the adepts throughout human history, and if you disagree with him, he will behave as though you have opposed the truths that he listed, instead of acknowledging that you actually oppose his claim to superiority. Mark also plays a game where if you disagree with his personally contrived definitions of terms, that you just don’t comprehend what he is saying, which is utterly nonsensical. I can comprehend what he is saying, and still disagree with him. I’m just not taking his OPINION as being a universal fact, for example, Marks definition of Natural Law, which is mostly correct, but as usual, he adds unnecessary, and often contradictory, baggage to the definition for no reason other than to force his personal views upon those he instructs. The goal of the Great Work is not to agree with Mark r gain his approval, it is to properly understand what Natural Law actually is, and is not, what Freewill is, and is not, and what personal evolution is, and is not. The way Mark defines the Great Work and Natural Law, he has basically eliminated any potential for evolution of any kind.
Marks definition of Natural Law is thus:
Mark Passio – “Natural Law is not a constructural idea or belief, its not a religion, and its not an idea that exist only in the minds of human beings. Natural Law is a force in Creation that is a set of rules, that ultimately rules us, but not like a human king would rule through violence. It is the dynamic that brings us the consequences, based upon our behaviors, thoughts, emotions, and actions, that we are putting out in to Creation, so you can look at it like a mirror. – Natural Law is a set of universal, inherent, objective, non-man-made, eternal and immutable conditions which govern the consequences of behaviors of beings with the capacity for understanding the difference between harmful and non-harmful behavior. The understanding of Natural Law is centered upon bringing your own consciousness in to alignment with objective morality. This means definitively knowing which behaviors are rights because they do not initiate harm to other sentient beings, and behaviors that are wrongs because they do initiate harm to other sentient beings. – This all has to be broken down because most of you are to stupid to even know what some of these words even mean.”
There is so much to unpack here, so lets see if we are smart enough to tackle these big words here, and break down Marks goofy definition of Natural Law. Mark says:
Mark Passio – “Natural Law is not a constructural idea or belief, its not a religion, and its not an idea that exist only in the minds of human beings.”
And here we already have a problem, because in a moment Mark will add the line “of beings with the capacity for understanding” which places Natural Law, according to Marks definition of it, right back in the category of existing in the mind, instead of being objective in reality. You simply cant have it both ways. Natural Law is either objective, or its dependent upon a brain where it exist as an idea. The only possible middle ground would be to say that it is possibly both, but Mark posits that the two notions are incompatible, and then asserts both anyway, which is highly illogical, to say the least.
Mark Passio – “Natural Law is a force in Creation that is a set of rules, that ultimately rules us, but not like a human king would rule through violence. It is the dynamic that brings us the consequences, based upon our behaviors, thoughts, emotions, and actions, that we are putting out in to Creation, so you can look at it like a mirror.”
Actually, this statement alone would be entirely accurate, and I would agree with it, if it were considered outside of the context of the unrelated moral issues that he is about to attach to it. Id also address that Natural Law is not A force IN Creation, but is Creation ITSELF. There’s absolutely no force in Creation that is not an element of Natural Law. That is why I personally say “The Nature of Being” instead.
Mark Passio – “Natural Law is a set of universal, inherent, objective, non-man-made, eternal and immutable conditions which govern the consequences of behaviors of beings with the capacity for understanding the difference between harmful and non-harmful behavior.”
And this is the point where Mark starts adding in his moral ideals to his definition of Natural Law. I agree that Natural Law is a set of universal, inherent, objective, non-man-made, eternal and immutable conditions which govern (and I would add, ALL THINGS). But that is where the definition of Natural Law is complete, period, the end, full stop. The problem with Marks definition, is that he goes on to add this line: “the consequences of behaviors of beings with the capacity for understanding the difference between harmful and non-harmful behavior.” The fallacious nature of Marks definition of Natural Law, is visible in that he wants to say that Natural Law is not a concept or idea, but objectively all encompassing, but he immediately follows the thought by saying that, Natural Law only governs beings with the concept or idea of his definition of Natural Law. Umm, What? This is a totally separate issue pertaining to the quality of freewill choice that is permitted through the Nature of Being, but the ability to choose, and the choices made, are not at all the same matter. The Ability to Be, and the choice of What to Be, are not the same issue.
Freewill includes ALL possible choices, and provides consequence for ALL of them, not just Marks personal preferences. Mark has leapt from explaining the Nature of Being, and landed in proclaiming moral virtues, which is to say that he has redefined Freewill as being the ability to make the choices that HE would make, which is inappropriate even if I felt that he had made the right choices, as he simply has no right to define what Freewill is for another living soul. I may agree with his basic definition of Natural Law, and I may also agree with the alignment of his Moral Compass, however, theses are two different issues, and the Creators motivation behind granting us Freewill, is most certainly not a boring, eternity long, bland, Kumbaya where we all hold hands, and smile at one another, in perfect peace, and enjoy the happy thoughts in our hearts. That’s just nonsense. Far be it from me to point out the fact that conflict and trauma are very substance which fuel our development and evolution as conscious living souls. Without these abrasive elements in the Nature of Being, we would have nothing to strive for, nothing to fight for, and nothing to do at all. Freewill would be meaningless, useless, and pointless. What Marks definition of Natural Law does here, is abandon the discussion pertaining to the nature of Being, and the existence of Freewill therein, and redirect the conversation into the realm of the personal ambitions of Mark Passio and his personal opinions, which everyone must adopt as facts, or forever be banned from his social media groups. Somehow, I think I’ll survive without his gatekeepers managing my personal conversations for me, as I recognize that as yet another means by which Mark Passio opposes the right of the individual to express their God given Freewill.
Lets be honest with ourselves here. All war, and death, and rape, and murder, and disease, and slavery, has occurred within the possible permutations of freewill expression according to Natural Law. You may not like it, but the Creator gave everyone freewill, and set in to motion Natural Law which governs ALL possible choices that anyone could ever make. Not just the good ones, not just the non-harmful ones, and not just the pleasant ones that Mark Passio likes. ALL of them. A definition of Natural Law should only speak to the nature of Being, and your freewill ability to express yourself therein. It says nothing as to what your freewill ought to demonstrate, as that is another conversation pertaining to ethics and morality, where Natural Law pertains to potential manifestation and possibility, and anyone who steps up and says otherwise, is attempting to play God, and oppose the very freewill you are here to express. Mark has produced, and teaches a definition of Natural Law, whereby he has attached his own personal moral ambitions, and therefore assigned his ambitions to all other living beings in the universe, which has to be, by far, the most arrogant thing that I have ever, in my entire life, witnessed. Natural Law is ALL encompassing, not just Marks views on morality, and not even if his views on morality are correct, which for the most part they are. Moral issues are only a tiny sliver of the trillions upon trillions of phenomena being governed by Natural Law.
Mark Passio – “The understanding of Natural Law is centered upon bringing your own consciousness in to alignment with objective morality. This means definitively knowing which behaviors are rights because they do not initiate harm to other sentient beings, and behaviors that are wrongs because they do initiate harm to other sentient beings.”
Wrong again. The proper understanding of Natural Law is that you have manifested within the Nature of Being, and you have been granted freewill, and your behavioral expression will have consequences that determine the quality of your experience. That is all. Period. The metric according to which you measure those consequences, and the degree to which certain consequences are desirable, and others are undesirable, is a totally separate issue. You have the Nature of Being, or Natural Law, and you have How to Be and Why, which is to say the existential, ethical, and moral elements of experience. You cannot just force one mans personal choice of How to Be, upon the nature of the What ALL Beings Are, because that would REMOVE FREEWILL from everyone in Creation, which overthrows the whole purpose of Creation, which is to manifest and experience growth through Freewill of Choice, and TO learn from the choices made, including the Right Choices, and the Wrong Choices. Not just the Right ones. Mark has to know this, because he claims to have learned from all of the Wrong Choices that he made when he was a young Satanist. Well, if Mark got his wish and the universe worked the way he seems to want it to, he never would have had a Choice at all, because he would have simply been manifested in a perfectly righteous state by default, and Freewill Choice would not need to even exist.
And even if we temporarily overlook the fact that Mark is conflating two separate issues here, and only look at his moral code, his moral definition isn’t perfect either, because his idea of what it means to do harm, seems to be dependent upon the level of sentience the victim possesses. I personally believe that the only level of consciousness that matters, at all, when committing an evil deed, and violating another living being, is your OWN damn consciousness. It really doesn’t matter if the victim knows what happened or not, because YOU know, and it doesn’t matter if you get caught, or get away with it, because YOU know, and its your karma, Period. There are just so many issues here, that I honestly cannot believe that I keep having to explain this to people that Mark Passio has brainwashed.
Before the internet, it was difficult and rare for the majority of people to have a large audience to connect with. By using technology, we can influence greater numbers, but this doesn’t mean we should live and die on the digital altar. While it is good to share info on digital platforms and people who have a strong calling for that should pursue it, is not the ultimate arena of our spiritual work. While the internet has become a useful tool, we must admit that it was crafted by dark forces for technological slavery and we will ultimately have to abandon it. In the meantime we can use their tools for good causes, but we shouldn’t act as if a corrupted and controlled digital reality is the end all be all location for the Great Work.
Our physical bodies were meant to interact with only a few individuals at a time and to personally know less than 100 people. While the internet has extended our capabilities for connection, we must be vigilant of its dark side, as not only was this technology created from bad intentions and without alignment to natural laws, but it represents an artificial reality with many false constructs; this is problematic when taken as real.
The more digital we go, the more elusive and reductionistic reality becomes… the more we project and assume… the more we indulge in fantasy… the less we see people as people and more as numbers and things. The many dimensions of the human-being collapse. And so it is no coincidence that digital totalitarianism is in tandem with this.
The private sphere is where the rubber meets the road in application of Philosophy, contrary to our virtual sphere of influence where we are lost, mesmerized, and hidden by contrived images. Teaching our children the principles of morality is an even deeper aspect of the Great Work; for it is one thing to put static information together and another to interact with a developing person as to intimately guide them in a holistic and balanced way with living intelligence. But sadly, much of the Truth community has chosen to not have kids, supporting the eugenics doctrine. In turn, their work becomes their children which will never compare.
Even if Natural Law material went viral, it would for the wrong reasons—because the level of consciousness of the vast majority cannot even comprehend it. Would we expect children who don’t understand addition/subtraction to grasp calculus? If we just put more calculus in the world, would that help??
But when it comes to spiritual understanding, its different than math, because there are so many things you can’t teach another person that they have to discover on their own for themselves. To believe that you can get the sleeping masses to a level of Hermetic wisdom simply by putting out information is to not even understand mass consciousness or how consciousness evolves.
Agreed. I addressed this issue on my my podcast a couple of weeks ago. Many of the more popular content creators in the Freedom Community are constantly requesting that other people begin to create public works of their own, and that’s fine, and I encourage people myself. However, after making that request, many of the same individuals will ignore any and all of the work produced within the community, if they feel that the content does not adhere to their overly specific personal preferences, which is to say Mark Passio’s preferences, on their exact chosen media, in their exact chosen format. That just isn’t how the Great Work “works”. Everyone will be motivated according to their own individual communion with the ALL, and the method, medium, or format, with which someone communicates truth, care, and love, is completely and utterly irreverent, so long as they do.
The Gurus making these request, and creating special clubs and memberships only available to those who comply with these request, have totally disregarded the Great work, because all of these request for the community to adhere to very specific technologies, on very specific networks, in very specific formats, are purely rooted in BASE EGO, because to ignore someones work simply because you prefer a different format, does more to hinder the Great Work, than to develop it, not to mention that it hinders the individual as well. How dare these assholes discourage people from expressing themselves as the Creator saw fit to enable them? This requires only a rudimentary understanding of the essence vs form issue, whereby the layman places fare to great an emphasis upon the form, while nearly ignoring the actual essence. All that these Guru Preferences (as I call them) have produced is a very cult-like, monotonous, uniformed, mono-toned, and rather homogenized, series of podcast, websites, and conferences, all covering identical content, with nearly identical graphics, in the identical, emulated, attitude of Mark Passio, and frankly its embarrassing, because emulating Mark Passio is NOT the Great Work. On that level, the Great Work has become boring as all Hell, and it could use a little personality and variety in its expression.
There exist within the Freedom Community an utter lack of people being able to read or write, which is being reinforced by Mark Passio insisting upon everything pertaining to the Great Work only being a live-stream podcast. Now I’m in complete agreement that everyone needs to possess at least basic technological skills, in order to reach enough people for it to be worth their time and effort, but I’m also terribly saddened by the fact that basic reading and writing skills have all but died in humanity, despite everything that we that currently refer to as alchemy and the Great Work, has resided near exclusively in literary documentation and expression. When I was a kid, no more than thirty years ago, in basic elementary school you had to learn to read and write in both print and cursive, and you likely had an older sister very competent in higher forms of calligraphy. In basic grade school you had to take your print and cursive skills into the fields of formatting pertaining to all variety of essay, letterhead, scientific notation, etc, and THEN in middle school you had to have mastered those skills, so as to further take them into public speaking, formal presentations, and debating, and THAT was just before you had to select either French or Spanish to study as your second language, in order to qualify for High School. And now in 2022 no one can write a basic letter if their life absolutely depended on it. And whats worse is that reading and writing is now being mocked by the leading voices in the Freedom Community. Why? Well, because Mark Passio keeps saying that the Great Work is a live-stream podcast, and that is a LIE.
If you cant read, and your attention span is limited to memes, cartoons, and slides, that is YOUR PROBLEM and you simply wont be able to access the information formatted in other mediums, and YOU have committed a disservice to yourself, and YOU have committed a disservice to the Truth, and YOU have committed a disservice to the Great Work. YOU, its your ignorance at fault. So piss off trying to tell me about the Trivium and Quadrivium, and you cant even read or write above a grade school level, or demonstrate the attention span of an educated adult. Personally, I miss the age of reading and writing, with no computers or phones, passing notes, having pen pals in various other nations, and writing love letters, and reading them again years later. Technology has its merits, certainly, but Mark Passio completely ignores the fact that live-stream podcasting has also permitted MILLIONS of illiterate imbeciles to broadcast astronomical magnitudes of total nonsense and brainwashing propaganda to billions of people, and if they were required to have written it out in longhand essay format, they simply couldn’t have broadcasted that particular message. I’m in possession of the technological skills in question, if not the wealth to purchase and utilize them, but I’m here to tell you that reading and writing has its merits, and the Freedom Community is ignoring them at their own peril.
When Mark realized that he would never be able to achieve mass awakening, he turned his energy to facilitate a NL teachers group so that these teachers could change the masses and this extends the incredible pressure he puts on himself to his followers that is unhealthy. It still supports a deluded notion. If we believe that mavens (those with social power and influence) are all that is needed to change others then we feed into the false paradigm/value of social power and influence itself! Mark is focused on increasing the quantity of voices and playing numbers (of NL teachers) upon numbers (the masses); but the belief that we beat the numbers game by having numbers isn’t necessarily true in regards to a subject matter that turns utilitarianism on its head.
Collectivists are all about numbers—as more power can be asserted that way, but occult and esoteric development is about the least number—down to the Individual, the deconstruction of social power, and about that which is less shared with humanity; transcending collective consciousness.
The masses seek numbers and social movements to measure the validity of ideas because they are prone to group-think and consensus fallacies, believing the narrative of the majority rules. And these tendencies prevent consciousness of sovereignty.
Hence, their first step into sovereignty is prioritizing truth over the social domain as to pursue the path less taken. Until the individual wants to relinquish all his group-identifications and the belief that truth is the collective narrative, he cannot even start the journey. We cannot use the ways of the masses as a means to propel them into higher truths without a distortion of those truths.
Indeed, and in many ways it demonstrates that on certain levels, Mark is actually operating on the same frequency of consciousness that the collectivist are, playing their same propaganda spamming game, which actually says a great deal about him. This isn’t about numbers, its about individual souls Freewill choices. Mark places far to much emphasis upon the material world, because that is where his attention resides for the most part. Many people are not willing to accept that the state of human slavery is not a result of lacking Mark Passio content in the world, but a direct result of the individuals desire, which Natural Law is accommodating. People can view and comprehend Marks work, or my work, or Jana’s work, and still make poor decisions that result in their personal slavery. Hell, I’ve done it to myself in the past, and learned my lesson and moved on.
When we take on the Work, when we Commune with the ALL, and we align our sovereign Will with the Universal Will, all we do is become an extension of the Creators invitation to Choice, but we never assume a position whereby we make up other living souls minds for them, as Mark is attempting to do. Truly understanding Natural Law, and the Great Work, includes an understanding that you will have to watch others endure the consequences of their poor choices, and to challenge that, is to challenge the very fabric of the universe, and to destroy Freewill itself. THAT is why Mark Passio will never become successful, because his goals oppose the reality of Natural Law, despite his attempt to redefine it so as to suit his personal agenda. And to Jana’s point, I’d say that Marks invitation is not to the Great Work at all, but to a social conformity based on a version of the Great Works Form, though lacking its essence.
Ultimately, singular works that stand alone have a greater impact than regurgitated works… and they shine from one individual to another. Singular voices make an impact more than collectives and social movements. Mark Passio’s work shines brighter alone than mixed with others on a network.
People aren’t awakening not because there isn’t more Natural Law information out there. It’s because they aren’t seeking it and are apathetic to its existence. People have to have an inner search for truth that is so deep and intense they will find it… as it will be granted by the cosmos in some form or other. For this information to make a difference in a person’s life, they must have already done a decent amount of research and inner work (ego/shadow) and they must be unsatisfied with the relativist doctrine.
There are VERY FEW people who are ready for this material and to think that the majority is ready and can be changed and that there is going to be a great awakening of Natural Law is a naive and ignorant perspective that fails to understand the dynamics of self-transformation and all of its psychological roadblocks. Initiates are truly the anomalies of the matrix and it’s been that way for a long time.
Of course, we want everyone to develop holistic intelligence and higher consciousness… but that goes much beyond simply understanding the basics of Natural Law information. The more you understand what holistic/higher consciousness entails and how difficult it is to attain (which is why it is called “the narrow archway” and why teachers say “many are called, few are chosen”) the more realistic you can be. Each individual has to develop on their own by their free will agency and overcome their own selfignorance (i.e. karmic patterns and interior matrices). Everyone will attain higher consciousness—but you cannot dictate when. And in our current state of fear and turmoil, this growth will even be harder to obtain as growth is predicated on Love.
Realizing that we have no control over the global situation is difficult, but this must be faced, for delusion is much worse than reality.
At the end of the day, Hermeticism is for the few and not the many. It’s not ideal, but that’s just how it is, relative to the aggregate consciousness and vibration of this plane and its inhabitants. This will be seen by anyone who has objectively witnessed mass consciousness without being clouded by desire. It’s not an elitist statement, but a fact. The wise are not here to make fools wise but to become wiser, and help the few who want to become wise.
While Natural Law information debunks new age nonsense, still many have the new age spirit feeling global change is possible by our efforts. But changing the masses should never be the goal because YOU CAN ONLY FAIL in this endeavor. From this failure there will be great disappointment, crisis, sadness, and anger. You will feel drained, victimized, and conquered. Ultimately, this is not about a war to win, but a war to transcend. We cannot win the battle of evil in an evil world that must by Law manifest evil consequences, but we can evolve through it and see our personal lesson in it.
Making mass awakening the end goal of evolution and the Great Work will have negative consequences for the individuals who believe this to be true, which is why a deeper and vaster spiritual understanding is required to overcome this and the defeat it will bring.
It is for this reason that I often argue that the Great Work is itself a Left Hand Path philosophy and praxis. One must be willing to sever all ties with social acceptance, relinquish all social expectations, fully embrace the taboo and heterodox, become autonomous and antinomian, and set out on their own to discover the Nature of Being, having purged from themselves the abstractions of government, politics, religion, and culture. This is the archetype of the Solitary Witch, and I have far more respect for that, than all these hipster podcast combined.
Right now it is understandable why there is a great need for collective change as we are in such chaotic and dark times. The truth is that things have always been chaotic and dark for thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of years, we are just in a different phase of the imperial cycle where it’s aggravated and more on the surface. There is so much evil in so many people (both elites and the masses, conscious and unconscious) and all consequences have to play out. Too many things have been set in motion that it would defy the laws of physics to think we could revert back.
We have to master our emotional states and come from love and not fear and desperation amidst living in a dreadful dystopian reality. We must prioritize our growth and resolving our psychological issues, including the issues with our childhood/family, as we cannot afford to be a psychological mess during these rough times… so getting our inner house in order is of paramount significance. And for some, pursuing content-creation may be a distraction for this.
Becoming more aligned to reality means having realistic expectations and not conflating desire with the actual condition of things. There is no magic wand waving that will suddenly shift the tide… We cannot become a world of higher consciousness over night and probably not even in a thousand years. False hope will destroy us, but getting very real can strengthen us and help us make the right choices to at least navigate a situation that is not dismal for ourselves and our families and friends. That is all we can do. Help those who want it and attempt to overcome tyrannical obstacles with knowledge so that we don’t follow along with the masses. But holding onto the hope of mass salvation just feeds the collectivist ideology that got us here. While the dark occultists want to control the collective, light occultists know that they shouldn’t.
This is why I like the mirror metaphor. The Nature of the universe is such that it shows us to ourselves. There are no chaotic or dark times, only reflections of the chaotic and dark elements of ourselves. There is no good or evil within the stage of the universe, but within those whose will is acted out thereupon. I’m not sure there would be anything different to revert back to. The Nature of Being has never changed. Its the ever evolving living souls consciousness that possess all of these qualities, and it bares the responsibility, the credit, the blame, and the penalties and awards, of its own deeds. To that end, there are no Elites to wag a finger at, or blame for humanities state of slavery, as the Elite would simply evaporate if humanity got its act together, and if they cant or wont, this state is exactly what they deserve according to Natural Law. In that strange context, even this situation is born of righteousness, in so far as our souls are being accommodated with consequence, regardless of the choices we make. Apparently the Creator is far less bias than people assume, as equal attention is obviously granted to those mental states and behaviors we have come to regard as unbecoming or distasteful.
Eventually the Great Work will be most important in our personal lives as we deal with the fall of civilization and rebuild through sustainable avenues. By understanding that our level of consciousness will be a factor in how things end up for us, the evolution of our consciousness becomes a primary focus. But for most people that will be last on the list of importance as they will be driven by fear and action (rather than love and consciousness). The harder things become, the more people will cave into their psychological issues, addictions, and ideological crutches. But we must do things opposite to them and see our hardships as inextricably linked to the development of our character.
The ancient Hermeticists were clear that martyrdom is not the path of enlightenment. There is no merit in sacrificing your own health and growth for the concept of the collective in an artificial reality. There are aspects of the Jesus Christ story that shouldn’t be emulated and becoming the savior to provide collective salvation is not how reality works or how people evolve. Each individual finds salvation at different parts of their reincarnational journey based on their agency, will, and desire. We shouldn’t see this as a collective affair, and we should value the Individual above our collectivist ideas. The universe did not design you to be responsible for everyone’s knowledge of Natural Law or to carry the heavy burden of collective ignorance. Yes, we do have moral responsibility, but that can be taken too far due to our inflated ideas surrounding digital/artificial realities. We need to balance this responsibility with our personal lives and our individual journey.
While becoming a morally good person involves helping others grow in their consciousness in a multitude of ways, that is not the sole reason you are here. No one is here to save the world, and that may be the final new age nonsense that we leave behind, free from grandiosity and unnecessary burden.
The collective fate of this planet is not our individual fate or end, even though there are temporal karmic intersections. Ultimately, the real end we are moving towards is the ascension of our consciousness beyond this plane of lower consciousness to be free from this dimension of limitation and suffering… but we cannot dictate when that is as Laws will determine.
In the meantime, to help balance our feelings of helplessness towards current events, we must accept and embrace that there is karma and purpose behind us being here at this time… as the necessary conditions for the development of our particular soul. Natural Law is always in operation and there is divine meaning behind it All.
I couldn’t agree more, and I thank you, Jana, for this awesome article, and the opportunity to offer commentary. I look forward to your future public productions, and I wish you well in your own personal evolutionary ascension.
